Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that getting a new family member is a commitment and we strive to be as transparent as possible with our future puppy families. If you have a question that is not covered here please feel free to reach out via the contact form, email or message us on FaceBook!

1
How often do you have puppies?
Right now we plan on breeding, at most, once a year. This may change as our program grows, but we are very much aware of being responsible for every life we bring into this world and primarily breed when we want a new show prospect or have enough families on our wait list.
We are currently planning for a litter on Moo’s next season. If timing goes as planned the pups would arrive mid-March).
2
Why do your springers have tails?
Traditionally the English Springer Spaniel has been a docked breed. The AKC standard was updated to allow natural tails in 2023. We plan on leaving natural tails on all of our puppies. The jury is still out on leaving dewclaws as well since it has been proven that they are used for balance maneuvering in action.
3
Why do your springers look different than other springers?
The long and short of this is that we focus on the classic springer spaniel type. If you see springers from England and other FCI countries, you will see more broken coats and ticking than you do in the US. All springers are beautiful, but we love the unique charm that the European type brings to the table.
4
Do you ever have roan puppies?
Our current dogs have heavy ticking, which can mimic roaning, but we do not have any roan genetics in our program.

5
You have mentioned Puppy Culture, what is that?
Puppy Culture is a puppy raising protocol that helps socialize puppies and set them up for success by giving them tools to be able to better communicate with their people.
6
Do you offer a health guarantee?
We offer a lifetime health guarantee on being affected by the conditions that we are able to genetically test for (PRA, PFK, DM, DAMS and Fuccidosis).
Please note that some puppies may be a carrier for PRA but would only have one copy of the gene and will not be affected by the disease).
We take our health testing seriously and will only breed dogs with good hips (or better) and normal elbows as scored and posted on the OFA site. Due to the environmental component of Hip dysplasia we are not able to offer a guarantee for HD.
7
What happens if I can’t keep my puppy (or dog) any more?
In the event that life happens and you cannot keep your FOTW Farm pup, it is in our contract that the puppy be returned to us so that we can ensure that an appropriate home is located.
8
Do you offer Stud services?
At this time we are not offering outside cover (live or AI).
9
Do you ever offer puppies with full registration (breeding rights)?
The short answer is no. Under the right circumstances, we might consider a show home on a co-own / contract, but we will not be offering any pups with full registration otherwise.
